Founding of St. Michael’s Parish Commemorated with
AKATHIST: “GLORY TO GOD FOR ALL THINGS” – July 14, 2009
 
One hundred and eigtheen years ago, St. Michael Orthodox Christian Church was founded in Old Forge.  On July 14, parishioners and visitors from surrounding churches celebrated this event commemorating the very day of its founding.  St. Michael's rector, Rev. John Soucek, concelebrated with Holy Trinity rector (Wilkes-Barre), V. Rev. David Shewczyk and the diocesan Chancellor, V. Rev. John Kowalczyk offering the Akathist service "Glory to God for all Things".
