INstallation of Icon of St. Andrew of Crete – June 24, 2009
Iconographer Christine Uvegas and Nicholas Loya of Eikona Studios from Cleveland, OH, delivered and mounted
a beautiful new icon of the Blessed St. Andrew of Crete on our church’s choir loft wall. The newly written icon accompanies
our existing icons of St. Romanos and St. John of Damascus who were hymnographers and church musicians.

St. Andrew of Crete is known in Orthodoxy as the “father of the canon” and is most widely and popularly
recognized for his divinely inspired masterpiece of repentance, The Great Canon of St. Andrew, which is served
during Great Lent.

Eikona Studios has been commissioned to write additional icons for our parish slated for delivery in the near future.
